Repair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together). In the place where a Repair Café is located, you’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need. On clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, et cetera. You’ll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields.

If you have any unwanted household appliances, consider donating them and extending their useful life.

Creating jobs and volunteering opportunities

The benefits of re-use include creating jobs, training and volunteering opportunities. Since 2014, we have created volunteering opportunities for people who need supported employment and work placements, we aim to double our efforts over the next two years. We are working toward accredited training programmes in Retail Skills, Business Administration and Waste Management to help people gain the skills and experience they need to get back into work.

Preventing valuable resources going into landfill. Not only by ensuring materials are reprocessed where possible, but also by reusing any components from items which are no longer serviceable. We take time to strip down household appliances bikes clothes and toys, reclaiming metals and valuable materials which otherwise would be sent to landfill.
